Extra Credit

I hate extra credit. Do the required stuff and do it well: that's my motto. However, if you can earn some money and show off your writing skills, I'm willing to bend my position a bit. Here's an essay contest you might want to explore: 2008 Election Essay Contest. Turn the essay in to me and show me evidence that you have submitted it to the contest. Here's another: read The Fountainhead. Or these: The National Peace Essay Contest, The JFK Profiles in Courage Contest, and In Darwin's Footsteps. As I come across others, I'll share them. Just don't ask me "how much" credit you get. If you have to ask, it's not worth it.

I've become soft. That's it. I admit it. I know: it's very sad.

Ms. H....

(sniffle)

oh tragedies of tragedies! If anyone were to turn soft, I would not expect you - the Enlightened One - to commit such an action!

Resist it... you must resist! Do not conform to the "river of public education!!" There are too many soft teachers... and you are too good to be one of them. I was/am so prepared for college because you were rough, tenacious, and didn't care if we cried over the millions (slight exaggeration) of red marks all over our papers!

:(

No, I think "millions" is about right. :)
